Temperature data loggers would have to be the most popular data logger ever used in the safety & quality control, scientific and engineering fields. It is certainly the most requested parameter to be measured by Lontek customer over the years.
Temperature loggers range from small single channel units all the way to units with hundreds of channels and the range of applications is just endless.
The small temperature data loggers are often battery powered with slower sampling rates of 1 to 15 minutes. They typically have limited internal memory and some have built in LCD displays to indicate the actual temperature reading. Most of these smaller units will have some kind of USB interface to a computer for downloading data. All include software to chart or graph the temperature readings in the computer. Accuracy will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Typical accuracy is ± 0.5°C to ±2.0°C, although you can't believe everything you read on the data sheet when buying low end units.
Mid range data loggers offer good value for money. Many have multiple channels and features like removable SD memory card data storage, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB communications, large LCD displays and alarming features for temperature monitoring.
The top end data loggers that can measure temperature are usually fully featured with 10 to 200 channels. Large internal memory, colour displays, e-mail and FTP for automatic data transfer and archive. Real-time software with reporting functions and cloud based data storage.
