Dent Instruments offers a wide range of sensors for measuring AC electrical current. These AC current sensors are designed for use with portable measuring equipment, such as the Dent Instruments ElitePro XC energy data logger. They typically feature the industry-standard 333 mV output for their rated current. For example, a 100-amp current transformer (CT) would output 333 mV AC when 100 amps AC is flowing through the cable it is clamped around.
To ensure safety, a burden resistor is built into the current transformer, keeping the output voltage at a non-lethal level.
