Electrical Submetering

Not everything in this world can be measured successfully regardless of what many instrumentation suppliers spruik in their catchy marketing slogans. But electrical energy usage can be measured with a data logger or energy meter and the resultant data can greatly assist you with analysing your energy usage profile. You'll just need to manage those things that can't be measured using a different technique.

The Australian Government Department of Industry and Science has published this article on Energy efficiency assessments. It's a great resource and starting point for those interested in energy efficiency.

Ergon Energy has also put this article together to assist when looking for an energy efficiency consultant.

Three Phase Metering

The Dent Instruments PowerScout PS3037 is an ideal instrument for single or three phase sub metering applications. With it compact form factor, multiple mounting options and easy to connect terminals, the Dent Instruments PowerScout PS3037 is great for retrofitting to existing switchboards or new installations alike.

With MODBUS or BacNet as standard, the PS3037 can be networked via RS485 or TCP/IP to various SCADA, Building Managements Systems, PLC or data logging systems.
